I love to make every family portrait shoot fun and this one was no exception. I received the booking for the session all through my Facebook Page. Following a series of messages, the time and location were set without even meeting the client as they lived in Australia. The location was to be the beautiful Weston Woods near Weston Super Mare. Having not met or even talked to the family on the phone before the shoot, I was a little apprehensive about how the shoot would go. I need not have worried, Belle, Gary and Louis were such a fun family and easy to photograph.

The session was certainly helped by the fact the weather was great. Although I have a set of locations in mind, I love to let each family portrait session take its own course without any specific plan regarding poses etc. I always try to let the family enjoy themselves by allowing them to focus on having fun as a family, rather than spending the time being directed into a series of poses by me. The four of us explored the woods and stopped at various points for a chat and for me to take photos. The conversation flowed easily as I love Australia having travelled around the country several years ago. We also discovered that we have some friends in common in the UK! I know it is a cliche but it really is a small world!

The session lasted around 1.5 hours during which time I captured some fabulous family portraits that will certainly provide Belle, Gary and Louis with some wonderful memories of their holiday in the UK. Please take some time to have a look at the images from their family portrait shoot below:
