I love a wedding! Every wedding is a beautiful occasion with so many wonderful things; the bride, the groom, the dress, the rings, the flowers, the church, the venue, the food and of course the party! All these variables go to make it a wonderful day. When you add a Scottish theme with lots of Naval personnel you know you’re going to get a stunner. Furthermore, having the wedding reception and party in your own back garden makes it a real family affair.
Neil and Kim had all of this and more. The wedding was held at Kingston St Mary Church and after the couple were married they left the church through a sword guard formed by Neil’s work colleagues. Whilst the guests travelled to the reception, the bride and groom joined me for a short walk and some photos in a favourite location of theirs from which you can see the church in which they had just been married. After this, we made our way to Mill Meadow for some more photographs. Mill Meadow is the site of luxury eco self catering accommodation in the heart of Somerset. The groom and his wedding party had stayed on site the previous evening and it is where they got ready on the morning of the wedding. Following a champagne toast and celebration we made the quick trip to the bride and grooms home for the wedding reception. The marquee was supplied by Stewart from Minehead Marquees and guests were treated to a wonderful meal provided by Pieminister. The Scottish theme? Well apart from several men in kilts, each table had an individual bottle of single malt whisky. I am sure most of this was enjoyed by the end of the evening! After the cake cutting and coffee everyone partied well into the evening with a ceildh.
The first image below is from Neil and Kim’s engagement shoot. This session is a time where we can get together to talk about wedding plans and for us to get to know each other.
