A family portrait session is one of my favourite sessions. Rather than having a set timeline like a wedding, family portrait sessions are very relaxed with no set plan. In the majority of the family sessions, we agree to meet at a set location and just go for a walk. Along the way, I will spot various locations and take some photographs but there is nothing set in stone. I try to make the session as relaxed as possible. As a result, I find I am able to get many more great images as my clients are relaxed without any pressure of having to stop, smile and have their photograph taken.
Although I have various locations I can use around the Taunton area, if a family has a favourite location or walk they enjoy I will always try to go along with what they suggest. Living in Taunton, we are lucky to have several beautiful locations close by. These include the Quantocks, the Blackdowns, some beaches and even some lovely local parks.

The latest session on the blog is from a session on the Quantocks. In addition to the family portraits, I also managed to get some great images of the boys interacting and having fun together. Most of all, I love the expressions of the little chap as he looks at me. I hope you enjoy…
