The Mount Somerset Hotel was the venue for my final wedding of 2015. This wedding meant a lot to me as the couple were family friends. I have known Sam and Jim for a few years now and when the doorbell rang and both of them were stood there smiling I knew something was up! There was no “hello” it was a just “will you photograph our wedding for us…??” I said yes without even know the date / time or location! I knew it would be a fabulous occasion with lots of fun and love…oh and did I mention that the mother of the bride is a fantastic cake maker…
The wedding took place at the church of St Peter and St Paul in Bishops Hull with a quick trip over to the beautiful Mount Somerset Hotel for the reception. For most of the day the weather was kind. However, the late afternoon and evening turned cold and showery which was a shame as we didn’t managed to explore the beautiful grounds of the Mount Somerset Hotel for some bride and groom portraits. Not to be beaten, my second photographer and I made good use of the wonderful interior of the Mount Somerset Hotel to capture some images of Sam and Jim as the new Mr and Mrs. A big thanks goes to Gemma Varney for assisting with the wedding.
The first images below are from Sam and Jim’s Engagement Shoot. The Engagement Shoot is a session I love to do with any couple getting married. Not everyone is used to being photographed (Sam and Jim were naturals by the way) and this session gives us both a chance to get to know each other and to get used to being photographed. I always try to arrange the engagement shoot for a location that means something to the happy couple so they can relax in a environments in which they are comfortable.
